Caridina Woltereckae
|
This shrimp was found in the Sulawesi, Indonesia Expedition. It is Endemic to Lake Towuti in the Malili lake system. In the wild it is a hard substrate dweller (rocks) and typically is found on or under small rocks and between boulders.
Caridina Woltereckae is herbivorous in nature, will graze constantly around the tank. They prefer a well planted tank, and moss or Riccia will provide them with a snack. They are constant grazers on algae but if this is lacking in the tank supply them with algae wafers or a crushed flake, or shrimp pellets. Caridina Woltereckae has very unique coloration and marking. It is mistakenly similar to Caridina Spongicola , however it is not a "sponge feeder" and is slightly larger in size then its counter-part. It is fine companion to most community life. |
