This shrimp was found in the Sulawesi, Indonesia Expedition. It is Endemic to Lake Towuti. In the wild it is a hard substrate dweller (rocks) typically found on or under small rocks and between boulders. 

Caridina Spinata is herbivorous in nature, will graze constantly around the tank. They will eat algae wafers or a crushed flake, or shrimp pellets.

Caridina Spinata enjoys the company of other shrimp including those outside of its speices. It is safe for all community life.
